The Nigerian prospect, who ed the Danish top-flight club on loan from Midtjylland on Friday, spoke about his journey and ambitions.

Ejeheri, who ed Arsenal’s academy at age eight, signed his first professional contract with the Gunners in August 2021.

Reflecting on his 13-year stint at the Emirates, he praised the club’s elite facilities and coaching.

"There were the best facilities in England, so you can really improve as a player. There are the best coaches there. It’s a joy,” Ejeheri told Flashscore.com.

He singled out coach Lee Smelt for his profound impact, both on and off the pitch.

"He really helped me off the pitch. He used to take me home after training. He was a really good guy."

The goalkeeper credited Arsenal for building his confidence and mental resilience.

"I learned all the basics at Arsenal. That kind of pressure when you’re young can help you develop mentally as well as on the pitch," he noted.

Despite his potential, Ejeheri struggled to break into Arsenal's first team, prompting his move to Midtjylland in 2024 after loan spells at Chelmsford City and Finnish side SJK.

On the international stage, he has chosen to pledge his international future to Nigeria over two other countries.

Apart from Nigeria, the 22-year-old is eligible to represent his country of birth England as well as Uganda, his mother’s country of origin.

Ejeheri was invited to a Flying Eagles training camp in 2023 ahead of the Africa U20 Cup of Nations but was unable to travel to Abuja due to club commitments.
