Russian outlet Metaratings says Russian Premier League club Spartak Moscow have been offered the opportunity to sign the 28-year-old as a potential reinforcement in attack.
However, the potential deal faces a major hurdle due to complications arising from foreign policy tensions and restrictions on transactions involving Danish banks.
Onughka turned out for Torpedo Tamala, Narovchat, Atmis Kevdo-Melsitovo, Zenit-M Penza and Volgar Astrakhan, before ing Krasnodar during the 2018-2019 season.
Since 2021, he has been playing in Denmark, though he enjoyed loan spells at Krylia Sovetov, Rubin Kazan and Bnei Sakhnin as a Vejle player.
In September 2024, he ed Superliga giants FC Copenhagen but struggled for game time, which led to a loan return to Vejle for the second half of the 2024–25 season.
He rediscovered his form at Vejle, scoring 13 goals in 21 league games and was named the Superliga Player of the Month for March 2025.
Born in Moscow to a Russian mother and Nigerian father, Onugkha made headlines in September 2024 when he declined a call-up to the Russian national team ahead of a friendly against Vietnam, expressing his intention to play for the Super Eagles instead.
He revealed at the time that he planned to visit the Nigerian embassy in Copenhagen to begin the process of obtaining a Nigerian port.
