'Shame on you' - Pundit blasts ex-Galatasaray striker Drogba for trying to lure Osimhen to Chelsea

Turkish pundit Ugur Karakullukçu has publicly criticized former Chelsea and Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba for allegedly attempting to convince Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen to Chelsea during the summer transfer window. 4xs1k

Osimhen, who just concluded a stellar loan spell at Galatasaray, has emerged as one of the hottest names in the transfer market after a sensational season in Turkey.

The 26-year-old scored 37 goals and ed eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, playing a crucial role in helping the Istanbul giants secure a domestic double.

The Nigerian striker's exploits have attracted interest from several top European clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus, and Galatasaray, who are eager to retain him permanently.

Reports suggest the Yellow-Reds have tabled a lucrative offer in an attempt to keep Osimhen in the Super Lig.
Despite already adding Liam Delap from Ipswich Town to their ranks, Chelsea remain in the hunt for a striker ahead of the 2025/2026 season.

Notably, club legends and former Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi and Ivorian icon Didier Drogba have reportedly been involved in trying to sway Osimhen's decision in favour of a move to Stamford Bridge.

However, Karakullukçu believes Drogba has overstepped his bounds.

Speaking via his YouTube channel, and as reported by habersarikirmizi, the pundit slammed Drogba for interfering in Galatasaray's efforts to keep Osimhen.

"Also Didier Drogba wants Osimhen to play for Chelsea. Drogba also wants to spoil the deal," Karakullukçu said.

"His words about Mourinho had already made him lose favor with the fans. Drogba will never be valued by Galatasaray fans as much as Mario Jardel and Mauro Icardi.

"If you are going to seduce Osimhen and take him to Chelsea, shame on you. He should have remained neutral."

Drogba, who enjoyed a brief but impactful spell at Galatasaray during the 2013–2014 season, remains a revered figure in global football but now faces backlash from some quarters of the Turkish fanbase.

Meanwhile, Osimhen is reportedly in no rush to make a decision and is calmly assessing his options.

Despite receiving offers, including some from the Saudi Pro League, the striker is said to prefer staying in Europe and competing at the highest level.

With the transfer window heating up, all eyes will be on the Napoli man as he weighs his next move in what promises to be one of the summer's most talked-about transfer sagas.
