Olabade Aluko has signed his first professional contract with Leicester City, a reward for his excellent performance last season.

On the final day of the 2024-2025 season, the right back became the youngest player of Nigerian descent to represent Leicester City in the Premier League, breaking an eight-year record held by Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.

Aluko made his Premier League debut against Bournemouth on May 25, 2025, aged 18 years and 176 days.

Last term, he featured prominently for Leicester City's U18 and U21 sides, playing in the U18 Premier League, FA Youth Cup, Premier League Cup, Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy.

Although Aluko is eligible to represent England's Young Lions, he has pledged his international future to Nigeria and is eyeing a call-up to the Flying Eagles squad before the 2025 Fifa U20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, another teenager of Nigerian descent Toby Onanaye will report to Seagrave for pre-season testing later this summer, having signed a contract extension.

A midfielder by trade, the 18-year-old made his mark in Premier League 2 last season, netting his first-ever goal in a 1–1 draw against Everton.

Onanaye followed it up with a maiden league assist in his very next appearance, setting up a goal in the clash with Norwich City U21s.
