From a Nigerian perspective, the big news is the inclusion of left-footed striker Victor Musa on Manchester United's retained list for the season.
The decision strongly suggests that the talented forward has signed a contract extension with the Premier League giants, securing his immediate future at Old Trafford.
Musa inked a scholarship deal with Manchester United two years ago, a contract that was set to expire at the end of this month.
The Spanish-born forward enjoyed a breakout season with nineteen goals in all competitions for the youth teams, comprising sixteen in the U18 Premier League, two in the National League Cup and one in the EFL Trophy.
Manchester United fended off interest from several clubs to retain Victor Musa's services, amid reports linking the former Club Deportivo Lourdes youth teamer with a return to Spain.
Athletic Bilbao were among the clubs reportedly monitoring the Nigerian prospect.
Last season, Musa was behind Denmark U21 international of Nigerian descent, Chido Obi in manager Ruben Amorim's pecking order of centre forwards.
Obi, who made his senior debut in the closing stages of a Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur, has also been retained.
Promising fullback Habeeb Ogunneye is likewise set to remain at Manchester United next season.
